Ephesto – Veteran rudo has been around a long-time and actually holds seniority over his Hijos del Averno teammates. Started his career in the early ’90s as Panterita del Ring working in the Monterrey area and for AAA. As Pantera del Ring he joined the fledgling Promo Azteca and that’s were he gained his initial big break winning the Aztecas Middleweight Title. He joined CMLL in around 1999-2000 when CMLL was pushing a lot of new talent. He changed his name to Safari and spent a number of years under that hood and as a tecnico. Primarily worked mid-card trios matches. He was quite the high-flyer as a tecnico. In 2005, he made a gimmick switch to an all-black mask and outfit and was called Hombre Sin Nombre. That went nowhere as well. It wasn’t until late 2007 when he made the switch to Ephesto and joined Averno and Mephisto as La Triada del Terror that he would find success. The trio has remained one of the best in all of Mexico. Ephesto has also had his share of success as a singles wrestler as well. He feuded with Rey Bucanero for the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Title. He won that title in May 2009 from Rey Bucanero in a match that also involved Rey Bucanero suffering a serious leg injury at the hands of Ephesto (this was a storyline to cover for Rey Bucanero’s real leg injury that saw him miss several months of action). The two feuded once Rey Bucanero returned however, Ephesto retained the title. However, he did lose the title to Rush on February 22, 2011. He would regain championship gold when he, Averno and Mephisto won the CMLL World Trios Titles from La Generacion Dorada on July 15, 2011.
