RECAP: CMLL Puebla on Teleformula 6/5/11 (5/23/11)

Teleformula decided to air CMLL’s show from Puebla. So much of a difference between Puebla and Guadalajara’s shows. Puebla has a much better feel to it on TV. Rey Bucanero and Horuz are guest announcers this week.

Ephesto, Mephisto, Misterioso Jr. b Sagrado, Stuka Jr., Valiente

Hmm…Could this be the start of try-outs for new teammates for Ephesto and Mephisto. “El Rey del Yoghurt” could benefit from Averno’s departure and the AAA rumor earlier this week that he immediately squashed. Remember last year there was that Maximo to AAA rumor and now we get Maximo on practically every TV show main eventing.

First fall is all about feeling each other out and hearing some drums being played by the fans. First fall goes to the tecnicos when Stuka Jr. hit a torpedo splash on Misterioso Jr. for one pin and Valiente caught Ephesto with a huracanrana to roll him up. Mephisto slipped out of the ring and didn’t get back in.

Second fall started with Valiente and Stuka Jr. just working a faster pace and hitting every move. Then Sagrado comes in and the rudos take over. Rudos go 3-on-1 against the tecnicos the rest of the fall. Mephisto fouls Sagrado and referee, Rafa el Maya, ignores it. Doesn’t even bother hiding that he missed it as he’s turned in that direction. Beatdown of Sagrado ends when Stuka Jr. gets in and headscissors Mephisto to the outside. He follows it up with a tope onto Mephisto. Misterioso Jr. gets the pin on Valiente with the Gori Driver. Ephesto rolls in Sagrado and pins him. Rudos take the 2nd fall.

Right after the fall, rudos toss Sagrado into the chairs. Then they place his leg through the middle part of a chair and begin to pound on his leg. Stuka Jr. gets thrown into a fan holding a camera. Bell rings for third fall to begin. Valiente is left in with the 3 rudos. Sagrado decides to continue the match. For some reason outside the ring, Valiente and Stuka Jr. start to argue. Sagrado takes on all three rudos until Stuka Jr. and Valiente get back in to help. Stuka Jr. hits a reverse tornillo from the top rope onto Misterioso Jr. Valiente hits a tope rope asai moonsault on Ephesto to the floor. Mephisto gets the win on Sagrado with the Devil’s Wings.

Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas b La Máscara, La Sombra, Strong Man

This match was way better than the LATV 6/4 main event. They did a lot of comedy in this match w/ Strong Man in both matches only Mr. Niebla and Negro Casas are far better working those spots with Strong Man. Also, La Sombra’s better than Maximo and Rush, so yeah way better match.

Mr. Niebla and Negro Casas come out with Zacarias El Perico and a little kid dressed as Mr. Niebla. They all dance. First fall gets under way with Negro Casas vs. La Mascara. Nice back and forth action highlight by La Mascara getting Casas in a bow and arrow submission that Casas breaks out of. Horuz is a better announcer than wrestler at this moment. Casas has La Mascara in a submission hold when Atlantis instructs Zacarias El Perico to go kick La Mascara’s rear-end. Tirantes argues with the tecnicos. La Sombra tries to break out of a leg hold and Tirantes helps Atlantis. Mr. Niebla draws the short straw and gets Strong Man. Atlantis tries to rile Mr. Niebla up with a few head slaps, but Strong Man knocks him down. Mr. Niebla struggles in the test of strength, so he decides to take a bite out of Strong Man. Mr. Niebla has zero luck against Strong Man. Strong Man decides he’s going to squash Mr. Niebla’s head like a cantaloupe and this is when Atlantis and Negro Casas decide to get involved and attack Strong Man. Rudos throw a flurry of punches and kicks at Strong Man. La Mascara and La Sombra get tossed out of the ring.

Atlantis catches La Mascara with a quebradora and then Mr. Niebla and Casas with a double headbutt. La Sombra meets a similar fate. Casas decides he’s going to hit a running plancha on Strong Man outside and Strong Man catches him and rams him into the ring post. Rudos find Strong Man’s weakness again by kicking the middle rope as he’s stepping back into the ring. Strong Man should wear a cup! Rudos hit three sentons on Strong Man and then jump on him for the pin. Zacarias El Perico gets in the ring and does a celebration dance. Could have sworn he threw out a bit of the Icky Shuffle in there.

Second fall starts with La Sombra kicking Zacarias El Perico. Rey Bucanero spins the Zacarias split claiming Zacarias turned on him. Julio Cesar immediately corrects him. Lots of biting and triple-teaming of Strong Man. La Mascara hits a tope to the outside on Casas. La Sombra hits a split-legged moonsault on Mr. Niebla for one pin and STRONG MAN HITS A FROG SPLASH ON ATLANTIS for the other pin. Quick second fall to tie things up.

Negro Casas kicks off the third fall literally with a multitude of kicks on La Mascara. Mr. Niebla comes in and he sends La Mascara to the outside of the ring apron and when he does his spit in the air routine, La mascara kicks him. Mr. Niebla bails out and in comes Zacarias El Perico with a flurry of punches and kicks on La Mascara. La Mascara trips him and then kicks him. Strong Man is still too much for the rudos. La Sombra comes in and has fun exchanges with all three rudoes leading to a senton dive onto Atlantis to the outside. Strong Man knocks Mr. Niebla to the outside and follows him up with a dive of his own onto Mr. Niebla, Atlantis and La Sombra. La Mascara forces Negro Casas to submit with La Campana. Tecnicos win this match.

Good show. Nothing really out of this world.
