AAA 7/1/07 in Monterrey

There is a show long angle with Mesias being kicked out of the Legion that is really well done and leads to the show closing with a great beatdown and lead-in to Triplemania.
Canibal/Hombre Sin Miedo/Takeda vs Los Diabolicos: Edited to death as one second Canibal has a face full of paint and in the next second most of it has faded away. Nobody really got the chance to show anything on the tecnico side. Miedo/Takeda did double dives which left Canibal to finish the match with Mr. Condor and he blew a TON of stuff. Mr. Condor even mouthed “pull my hair” and Canibal just stood there so Condor stiffed him with a few shots and then all three rudos stuff power bombed him (with extra UMPH) to win the match.
Estrellita/Sexy Star vs Fabi Apache/La Diabolica: Not bad. Very short since it was also edited so what was shown was decent enough. Diabolica should really jump back to CMLL as she fits in with those women more than she does here. A Marcela/Lady Apache vs Diabolica/Amapola match would be awesome. Estrellita did a wicked corkscrew plancha at the end of the match. Alfa/Gran Apache did a run-in to attack Sexy Star leading to Fabi Apache using a dragon suplex for the win. Weird thing was Sexy Star took the move on her head and was pretty much on her stomach as she got pinned. O…K…
Fuerza Aerea vs Gran Apache/Super Calo/Alan/Alfa: AWESOME! Really, what else needs to be said? Oh right… Aero Star’s spiderman outfit was SWEEEEEEEET! He was ruling it in this match and did two psycho dives. Everyone was great here and the crowd was extremely into it. I won’t spoil anything or ramble on about all the greatness but do yourself a favor and get this!
Juventud Guerrera vs Fuerza Guerrera: On second rewatch, it wasn’t as bad as I originally thought. BUT… I had a FF button unlike the first time. The problem without a FF button is the match just drags on way too long. It has some fun moments and they really get the crowd into it but it dies during the teased comebacks by Juventud and interference/ref stupidity.
Chessman/Charly Manson/El Zorro vs Abismo Negro/Antifaz/Histeria: I thought this was really fun. The Hell Brothers each got in an exchange with Chessman’s being the best of course. He got to catch and do his own moves so that was interesting to see. I wonder how many other tecnicos could pull that off? He did a nice springboard spear off the second rope near the end. Zorro ended up being laid out with a tombstone by Abismo. Really fun match.
La Parka Jr./Latin Lover/Cibernetico vs Kenzo Suzuki/Ron Killings/X-Pac: Latin Lover got a scary reaction when he came out. But it was the opposite of the usual scary reaction he gets in Monterrey… he got almost no pop! It’s gotta be that music that nobody recognizes. Parka got the biggest pop but Ciber was the most over. Entire match was a tecnico squash which was a nice rarity. X-Pac took a huge bump over the top for Cibernetico to kick things off and all three foreigners played their roles as bump machines quite well. It would have been perfect except the finish where Ciber messed up his spear and then mis-timed his choke slam on Kenzo. They always seem to screw that up. Ciber grabs Kenzo and wants to pose before doing the move but Kenzo jumps on his own and Ciber has to just go with it so it looks clumsy. Post-match had the closing angle with every rudo teaming up to destroy the Hell Brothers and the rest of the tecnicos including Abismo tombstoning Latin Lover. It all ended with a bloody Ciber cutting a great promo as he was draped in the Mexican flag.
Awesome show! Definitely worth getting.

This was one of the top 10 episodes of 2007 and it’s close to the top. The final match was awesome. The technicos and rudos played their parts so well. I love La Parka faking that he caught a fly only to hit Ron Killings in the face. (woth mentioning that Ron fell for the trick)
Rob I don’t know that episode you were watching but Cibernetico got no reaction at all.
