AAA 4/22/06 in Cuautla:
I breezed through this today as the show was a combination of the Cuautla taping and a review of everything leading up to the big Guadalajara show. They had about 7 segments on the show which always started with an older match or two, then they’d join one of the Cuautla matches in progress and conduct interviews afterwards. The good thing about this is you get almost 3 full hours of wrestling… the bad thing is it’s a lot of repeated stuff and the new stuff is edited down big time. Here is what was shown from the Cuautla taping though…
El Angel/Los Barrio Boys vs Gran Apache/Los Diabolicos: Joined with all four tecnicos hitting tope suicidas on all four rudos. Angel passes off an exchange with Apache to allow Billy Boy to get at him and Billy Boy ends up smacking Apache with a chair, busting him open big time. Apache was SOAKED in blood by the time the match was over. There were some quick exchanges and we double the dive count with Billy doing an AWESOME BULLET TOPE SUICIDA on Gallego which really should have killed the rudo with the force Billy connected. Angel did an asai moonsault onto Apache. Alan and Decnis did dual tope suicidas on Angel Mortal and Mr. Condor respectively. It came down to Angel and Apache. Angel’s light blue outfit started turning red from Apache’s blood, hehe. Angel tagged out to Billy Boy and let him finish the match. Billy dominated Apache and got him to submit to end the match. What was shown was really good and was actually the perfect setup to their upcoming singles match.
Martha Villalobos vs La Diabolica – Dog Collar Match: I totally skipped this. Just FF’ed all the way through and saw some interference leading to Diabolica winning. I’m sure it was shitty.
Rey Cometa/Super Fly/Nemesis vs Escoria/El Cuervo/Ozz: Joined right after the tecnico comeback(I suppose). Super Fly is flipping around the ring with Ozz catching him. Chessman immediatly runs out and spews Super Fly with mist! El Hijo Del Tirantes doesn’t disqualify the rudos though which is odd. La Diabolica and Charly Manson also run out as all of La Fuerza Aerea get destroyed until Martha Villalobos, Angel and Triple A make the save! Chaos around ringside with everyone just running around. Eventually we wind up back where we joined the match. Super Fly/Nemesis send Cuervo and Escoria outside for double dives… ringpost plancha by Nemesis and a *SCARY AS SHIT 15 FOOT HIGH HANGING TOP ROPE SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULT* by Super Fly!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOA! He got so much height and it was his patened moonsault where he just hangs in the air and you think he’s gonna come straight down to his death. In this case he almost did as since he got no distance at all – he almost crashed face-first into the apron! One of the most spectacular dives I have seen in a long time. Rey Cometa slams Ozz and does a senton bomb. Then Martha comes running into the ring again and uses a second rope splash on Ozz who then gets pinned by Cometa. A chaotic brawl, a crazy dive and a finish to get the new flyers over = works for me!
El Zorro/Triple A/Laredo Kid vs Shocker/Scorpio Jr./Alan Stone: This is joined late in the match as Triple A is working an exchange with the rudos. He ends up nailing all three with a running somersault plancha. Zorro then has a nice exchange with Shocker and the other two rudos. More Triple A flying but it ends with Alan sending him outside for a tope suicida! Laredo Kid gets to show nothing and gets pinned immediatly. Zorro then rolls up Scorpio Jr. as Shocker isn’t looking. Crowd is really hot for a Zorro/Shocker finishing exchange but Charly Manson runs in and low blows Zorro for the DQ. What was shown was actually EXCELLENT. I fear for how the full match would have looked though.
Octagon/La Parka Jr./El Intocable vs Cibernetico/Charly Manson/Chessman: Once again joined really late as Intocable is dancing for Charly. He sends Charly outside and then does his usual moves with Chessman. Ciber then gets dropkicked outside and more dancing. Octagon comes in and actually… USES A NEW SPOT! Not only that… A NICE NEW SPOT! Full credit to Chessman though. The spot was where Octaogn goes for la jarocha but instead of connecting, he then uses a spinning armdrag to send Chessman outside. I thought it was kinda neat. Parka then comes in and does his usual shtick. He uses a tope suicida on Cibernetico. Octagon uses a tope suicida on Chessman. We see Televisa Deportes Technology for a bit but they rejoin the match where it left off. Zorro ends up getting in the ring and using his cane to beat Manson to a pulp earning his fellow tecnicos the DQ. Good way to build for the Guadalajara show.
Not sure why they aired so little of this show but it was definitely really good build-up for the following week. In the closing video they show a few spots not shown in the matches like Angel with a headscissors on the outside, Nemesis with a tope suicida and Rey Cometa with a second rope Venum style tornillo where he almost totally overshot Ozz and looked to be landing pretty badly!
Next up is the Guadalajara show which could be fantastic if everything comes together properly. Can’t go wrong with a Fuerza Aerea vs Secta opener, the 3 way which I heard was great, Billy Boy vs Apache finally coming to an end and Chessman bumping all over in the main event.
