VIDEO & RECAP: Llaves y Candados Presents Mud Wrestling!

If you are watching the Olympics, you’re probably asking yourself where’s the mud wrestling competition, well there is none. It hasn’t been an Olympic sport since the people organizing the Olympics decided that they would wrestle on blue mats. If you are disappointed to be reading this news, worry not because there was mud wrestling on Llaves y Candados!

This was part of the show that aired on July 29th with the match being taped on July 24th from Arena Coliseo de Monterrey. I think at some point the folks running that building have to realize that the only gimmick that draws is Konan Big vs. celebrity matches. Regular wrestling shows and gimmick shows not involving Konan Big are just not working there. I admire that they are still trying, but that territory has been dead for about 8-9 years now.

La Monjita vs Mami Rica

This was pretty awful in so many levels. I’m not even going to say it was bad from a pro wrestling standpoint because I don’t think anyone expected it to be any good. From an entertainment spectacle it was pretty sloppy. No one seemed to really know what they were doing and really the whole purpose of mud wrestling is to be more of a distraction for men, but I’m not sure this even did that. The added stip is the winner would be determined when whoever stripped their opponent down to her bikini. Good to see this match has some rules to it. Female ref helped one of the women strip the other one down to her bikini. La Monjita ended up winning the match. Its about 6 minutes long. Go ahead and watch it, you won’t be the only one.
