CMLL C3 TV 7/12/08:
Ángel Azteca Jr., Hijo del Faraon, Tigre Blanco vs. Bronco III, Puma King, Tiger Kid: If CMLL ever wanted to show off their ‘Generacion 75′ group – this is the match to show off! I really enjoyed this and it shows how deep CMLL really is when it comes to talent. If only they had someone in charge who knew how to make stars then I’d be more confident Azteca Jr., Bronco, Puma King and Tiger Kid would all have bright futures instead of possibly just being the next Sombra De Plata, Ramstein, Super Comando and Artillero. Felino’s kids in particular looked awesome here. I absolutely love Puma King’s finisher which is a spinebuster/power bomb combo that could easily pass as a big-time WWE finisher if their wrestlers were allowed to: a) think for themselves and b) do moves not written in their scripts. The only awkward thing here was Tigre Blanco and Bronco working the mat. Bronco is more than a head taller than Tigre and should have just been tossing him around or they should have been doing little/big man spots. But since Bronco has been buried so low on cards I’m sure very few fans will remember all this and when he gets regimmicked he’ll have a bright future. Hopefully they don’t make the same mistake they did with Rey Tigre (remember him?) and think he’s ready to work high up on the cards. He seems like a sure bet for a late 2009 push at this rate so let’s not rush things. Azteca Jr. meanwhile is just a fantastic flyer with very little personality. Same goes for Hijo Del Faraon. They should take advantage of all the Jr.’s they have and put them in some sort of trio like Stuka Jr., Azteca Jr. and Faraon Jr. or even get Fantasma Jr. in there somewhere. Tecnicos won the fantastic match after Faraon got his finisher on Puma King. That might be the best finisher in CMLL today besides La Mistica. You want this match!
Metálico, Metalik, Mictlán vs. Arkangel de la Muerte, Dr. X, Nitro: La Fuerza ‘M’? Hardly. Metalico was beyond shitty and blew a shitload of spots. If CMLL ever needed to trim the fat on their roster he’d be in my top 10 for sure – even ahead of lots of the shitty women. Mictlan did a couple of dives which was surprised and Metalik got a few moments of brilliance in including a neat ropeflip armdrag/headscissors spot and a moonsault plancha with huge hang time. Tecnicos won. I really don’t enjoy the Guerreros Tuereg. They have no chemistry and just rely on old-school stomp/kick/dropkick offense. They also don’t take the superbumps that most rudo trios should take to get the tecnicos over. They’re just a boring team. (Note: Hooligan being the exception).
Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Máximo vs. Diamante Negro, Terrible, Texano Jr.: 100% comedy and nothing else. Corleone did his Superman Dive into the ring and then Terrible low blowed him for the second fall DQ.
Dos Caras Jr., La Máscara, Shocker vs. Misterioso II, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero: Total mail-in job outside of Bucanero and Misterioso bumping their asses off in the third fall to make it seems like Dos Jr. and La Mascara were actually trying. Shocker went over Guerrero with La Reinera.
