Akira/S.W.A.T. vs Aguila Guerrera/Toro Bill: Is anyone going to fill me in on why S.W.A.T. doesn’t dress like a S.W.A.T. member? Did he start with that gimmick and just give it up but not change his name? Is it a random name and he really has no idea what gimmick he should be doing? Anyways, this aired instead of the semi-main which had Maximo/La Mascara/Fantasma’s kid vs Averno/Mephisto/Efesto. What does this tell us? The TVC producers have brains and compassion. Fun little opener with Akira looking fun and Toro Bill being hilarious. Gotta love S.W.A.T.’s submission to win the first fall as well.

Blue Center/Lestat/Tigre Rojo vs Espiritu Maligno/KARISMA/Siki Osama Jr.: FANTASTIC! The local dudes went all out and had an awesome match! First fall was great with the type of finish you would never see in D.F. due to time restraints + wrestlers just not caring any more. Espiritu Maligno got eliminated while his partners weren’t looking and in typical lucha format that would mean another rudo is about to lose to end the fall but the two remaining rudos countered frankensteiners with dual power bombs to take the fall and shock the crowd. Hey – there’s a reason you have one captain and two partners. Hello CMLL DF booking crew! From that point on it was just a tecnico showcase for the most part with some awesome moves and great dives. Espiritu Maligno is one sick motherfucker. He takes some wild bumps including the Fuerza bump through the ropes where I swore he broke his tailbone but then on replay it showed he used his ankle to break his fall. How he didn’t break his ankle is beyond my comprehension. The rudos got a chance to fly as Espiritu Maligno hit a 10 foot high springboard plancha and KARISMA did his flip plancha ala Ultimo Dragoncito into the 2nd row! Tigre Rojo ended up being pinned by Osama. Great match!

Axxel/Flash/Mascara Purpura vs Arkangel/Dr. X/Skandalo: It’s official… Purpura is worse than La Mascara. My reasoning is La Mascara is very limited in what he can do since he’s not talented and doesn’t care about the business. Yet he still works as hard as he can and puts enough effort into his never-changing moveset to make it look kinda decent. Purpura on the other hand has TONS of potential and is very talented yet he does nothing. It’s like he knows he can do better but is refusing until he gets a push. I don’t think that’s how it works buddy.:/ For a guy who can do crazy tornado dives, running tornado dives, every imaginable flip in the ring… his biggest spot here was a running SSP. He’s fucking annoying and I’m glad he’s stopped being booked on Fridays. Axxel and Flash both looked good which made the match semi-interesting. Still nothing too special overall though. Dr. X can whine all he wants about not getting bookings but he appears to be overweight and is sooooooooooooooo slow when taking bumps.

Blue Panther/Dos Caras Jr./Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Atlantis/Mr. Niebla/Rey Bucanero: Rematch from the previous week. I love watching Mr. Niebla get beat up. It’s so funny the way he sells.:) Wagner went over in two straight falls although the second fall finish was fucked up big time as Tigre Hispano counted to three but then signaled no pin b/c Blue/Dos Jr. entered the ring as he hit the three. Wagner was very confused and you could see him mouth something to Hispano which must have been “sell” b/c he clocked him and then hit a power bomb on Bucanero while the other ref counted to three again so the crowd could realize the match was over. I hope they didn’t give Wagner the belt.
