2011 LuchaWorld 100 Countdown: #12. Guerrero Maya Jr.

12. Guerrero Maya Jr. – (NR) – (5’10″, 194 lbs, 7 yr. pro): Had a big year as he went from being a lower card wrestler to start the year to main event status as part of a top tecnico trio. Teamed with Maximo in the Gran Alternativa tournament. He was part of the Forjando Un Idolo tournament in CMLL as part of Charly group with mentor Shocker. While the tournament was going on, Guerrero Maya Jr. was part of a tournament for the vacant CMLL Super Lightweight Title. The first part of the tournament were two torneo ciberneticos were the finalists would face in a singles match for the title. Guerrero Maya Jr. won the May 24th torneo cibernetico in grand fashion by using a “martinete” (piledriver) on Palacio Negro, which after seeing some of the holds that he had used built him a different reputation to any other tecnico in the promotion. Lost to Virus in the final match on June 7th at Arena Mexico in an excellent match. Teamed with Atlantis and Delta as “Los Reyes del Atlantida” and began feuding with Los Guerreros del Atlantida. The trio eventually won the Mexican National Trios Titles from Los Invasores (Volador Jr., Olimpico & Psicosis II) at the 12/16 Sin Piedad show. His use of submission holds separates him from all other young, high-flying CMLL tecnicos.
