CMLL C3 TV 4/26/08:

Leono/Molotov/Tony Rivera vs. Apocalipsis/Arkangel de la Muerte/Ramstein: I liked this. Just your usual solid opener. It was funny watching Leono and Apocalipsis working together early on as I remember the days when I’d cringe at the thought of Apocalipsis holding back the talented Leono and now I’ve done a complete 180 and was pissed Apocalipsis had to bump his ass off for the shitty Leono. Rivera and Arkangel had some fantastic exchanges and traded dives in the first two falls. Molotov had a cool sequence with Arkangel ending with him using the apron to do a 360 armdrag on the floor! NEAT! Leono must have been high b/c he used a springboard moonsault in the third fall which he never does any more. Molotov wimped out and did a lame tope suicida. Rivera using a flying huracanrana to pin Arkangel. Good stuff.

Nosferatu/Ohara/Shigeo Okumura vs. Máscara Púrpura/Metálico/Mictlán: I was worried when I saw Purpura working without wrist tape b/c not only do I have this theory about wrist tape = good wrestlers but also I always think if someone isn’t wearing their wrist tape, it must mean they intend to completely mail in a match and not break a sweat. Or they could have just forgotten to bring wrist tape. Either way I was wrong here as Purpura looked fantastic! He hit a bullet tope suicida on Ohara that was absolutely sickening! On the other hand Metalico once again had a shitty performance blowing multiple spots the only time he was in the ring. They did a dive sequence in the third fall with a Metalico tope suicida, an Okumura somersault off the apron and a Mictlan running somersault plancha. Purpura and Nosferatu had a GREAT finishing exchange with Nosferatu winning with a spear after Purpura missed an asai moonsault. More efforts like this in the future would be much appreciated Mr. Purple!

Alex Koslov/Máximo/Volador Jr. vs. Lizmark Jr./Misterioso II/Sangre Azteca: Geez… Volador Jr. looked awesome AGAIN! He works harder on Tuesdays than Fridays! Maximo was the center of attention in the match though. He brought a rose for Sangre who refused to accept it and tagged out to Misterioso who wanted to accept it but Maximo didn’t want to give it to him! *L* Finally Sangre tagged in and slapped Maximo. Awwwww that’s not nice! Tons of comedy followed. Koslov and Volador did dives to end the first fall with Maximo pinning Azteca to take it for the tecnicos. Second fall had an awesome Volador Jr. exchange with all three rudos. I love how he can do his running frankensteiner and land on his feet ready to run into the next spot. Maximo and Koslov did dives which gave away this was ending in two falls as Lizmark Jr. yanked off Volador Jr.’s mask after a nice finishing exchange. Good stuff.

Dos Caras Jr./Heavy Metal/LA Park vs. Damián 666/El Hijo del Perro Aguayo/Mr. Águila: They had the same fan in the front row who appeared at Sunday’s Coliseo taping dressed in full Parka gear. So he got involved which was hilarious as Parka didn’t want to keep getting hit so he just switched places with the fan! *LMAO* The big mistake was not milking it for more as the fan ripped off his mask to show he wasn’t the real Parka (how would the rudos know that?) after Damian smacked the shit out of him. Rest of the match was nothing special at all. I would have much rather seen 20 minutes of comedy with that fan. Tecs took it cleanly.

Really good episode, well worth checking out.
