2011 LuchaWorld 100 Countdown: #36. Marcela

36. Marcela – (70) – (5’1″, 130 lbs, 27 yr. pro): One of the top 3-4 female wrestlers in Mexico. Her long-running feud with long-time rival Amapola continued in 2011 and they wrestled numerous times in singles and trios matches. She challenged Amapola for the CMLL World Women’s Title four times in 2011. The first time was an excellent match-up in late January were she lost the match. The previous week she had won a torneo cibernetico to earn that shot. She went on to lose the next two title matches to Amapola including a match-up in the newly formed REINA promotion out of Japan. Marcela then challenged Amapola for the fourth time in 2011 on October 28th at Arena Mexico. Marcela entered the match with a 12-match losing streak when facing Amapola in a title match. Marcela won the match! Her title reign would be short-lived as she lost the title to AYUMI in late November while on a tour of Japan. She also challenged Princesa Blanca for the Mexican National Title twice.
