2011 LuchaWorld 100 Countdown: #40. Mr. Niebla
40. Mr. Niebla – (95) – (5’9″, 200 lbs, 21 yr. pro): Despite being a rudo, one of the most popular wrestlers in Mexico. He’s more of a comedy wrestler nowadays doing more of a sleazy, dirty character than in his youth being more of a serious wrestler. Leads the popular trio of La Peste Negra (w/ Felino and Negro Casas) and is always accompanied by the mascot, Zacarias El Perico. Mostly headlined shows and did comedy which fans liked. As far as what he did in the ring, he’s probably known for 2 big moves, his wacky submission finisher known as “La Neblina” and the disgusting “SMS” spot. “SMS” in Spanish is “sudor, mocho, y saliva”, which in English translates to “sweat, booger, and saliva”. Basically, Mr. Niebla spits in the air, at opponents, touches and smells his and other people’s armpits. Mr. Niebla started wearing different costumes which followed what Volador Jr. was doing with tributes to comic book characters. Mr. Niebla and Zacarias El Perico dressed as the Incredible Hulk and as Hellboy. Mr. Niebla won the 2011 Leyenda de Azul torneo cibernetico in July. Mr. Niebla also had a brief feud with Atlantis, which came duringa time that Atlantis seemed to be feuding with a few other people. One of the better promo guys in Mexico and he’s become a mentor and father-figure to Zacarias El Perico!
