CMLL TV 5/3/08:
Felino/Hijo del Fantasma/La Sombra vs. Ephesto/Misterioso II/Virus: Really fun second half of the match. I was disapointing in the first fall as the rudos mailed in their beatdown. These three are really capable of more than stomps, kicks and dropkicks. Efesto connected with an awesome tope suicida in the second fall. Sombra won the second fall with a great setup into the rocking horse submission. Third fall had all three tecnicos getting to show off their moves. Sombra in particular stood out but after he connected with his big moonsault dive and Felino connected with his somersault off the second rope, Fantasma’s kid had an awesome finishing exchange with Misterioso to pick up the win. I was sold on Fantasma’s kid after seeing this originally and while I don’t approve of the rapid push to main events, at least he’s tolerable unlike La Mascara.
Alex Koslov/Heavy Metal/Negro Casas vs. Black Warrior/Rey Bucanero/Toscano: Another shortie from this crew. Everyone sorta stayed out of the way as Metal/Toscano kept their feud going although Koslov snuck in a nice running somersault plancha in the second fall. Toscano hit one of his own as well right before the finish where he lost when Metal faked a low blow in revenge for Toscano doing the same in the second fall. More hair match challenges afterwards.
Momentos = repeats.
El Hijo del Perro Aguayo/Terrible/Villano V vs. Blue Panther/LA Park/Shocker: Wasn’t too impressed with this although it had some entertaining moments. Parka was back to working his slow plodding style unlike the week before. Hit gut looked to multiply in size over just 7 days.:) Terrible once again stood out and in the third fall busted out a running somersault plancha! Haven’t seen him do that since his Engendro days. Villano V ripped off Panther’s mask to win the match.
The week before was much better but this is a nice show to pick up to follow the storylines and also get a fun opener in the meantime.
