2011 LuchaWorld 100 Countdown: #43. Angel De Oro
43. Angel De Oro – (100) – (5’10, 183 lbs, 6 yr. pro): A big year for Angel de Oro in 2011. CMLL did everything possible to move him out of the glut of the similar style high-flying tecnicos. He’s reached semi-main event status. Had a strong back-to-back start to the year as he won the Reyes del Aire torneo cibernetico on January 1st and the next day he teamed with Rush and Diamante to win the #1 contenders to Mexican National Trios tournament final. The trio then won the trios titles one week later. Was part of the Forjando Un Idolo round-robin tournament. He was in the Bravo group mentored by Ultimo Guerrero. He won the first stage of the Forjando Un Idolo tournament by beating Polvora in one of the best matches of 2011. The second stage of the tournament featured the top two of each group tagging up with their mentors in trios matches. Angel de Oro teamed with Rey Escorpion and Ultimo Guerrero. Lost the Mexican National Trios Titles to Los Invasores (Volador Jr., Psicosis & Olimpico).
