2011 LuchaWorld 100 Countdown: #55. Palacio Negro/Titan
55. Palacio Negro/Titan – (NR) – (5’7″, 187 lbs., 3 yr. pro): Exciting high-flyer has been a Guadalajara local favorite for a few years now. Made his way into the main roster of CMLL in late 2010 as part of a tournament to crown new Mexican National Trios Champions. Teamed with regular Guadalajara partner Metal Blanco and Sagrado in this tournament and reached the finals were they lost to Rush, Angel de Oro and Diamante. Followed that up by being a part of the Gran Alternativa and Forjando Un Idolo tournaments. Teamed with Averno in the Gran Alternativa and reached the semi-final round were they lost to Mascara Dorada and Metal Blanco. In the Forjando Un Idolo tournament held in April and May, he was part of Ultimo Guerrero’s Bravo Group. He only won one match, but impressed enough folks to continue to be a regular at Arena Mexico/Arena Coliseo (DF) shows. He was now working a heavier schedule. Beat Mr. Trueno for the Occidente Middleweight Title at Arena Coliseo de Guadalajara on August 14th. He was involved in the Leyenda de Plata tournament in September. After that appearance in Arena Mexico, Palacio Negro wrestled primarily in the smaller arenas for a few months. He made his way back to the national level when at a press conference Shocker introduced a new trio consisting of Metro and the newly re-gimmicked and renamed Palacio Negro (now Titan) and Metal Blanco (now Triton). The group was formed as Shocker’s way to gain revenge on Atlantis for stealing Delta and Guerrero Maya Jr. away from him while he was ‘injured’ and unable to continue with the Forjando Un Idolo tournament. The group was short-lived as Metro never really teamed with them and actually might have teamed more often with Atlantis group and Shocker was kept away by CMLL to resolve his issues. Now known as Titan, he continued to team with long-time partner Triton and has shown tons of promise. He’s even garnered a fan base on twitter that refers to itself as #porraTitan.
