2011 LuchaWorld 100 Countdown: #87. Olimpico
87. Olimpico – (NR) – (5’11, 188 lbs, 20 yr. pro): Gotta admit when he first made his way back to CMLL in 2010 as part of the “Invasores” angle, I wasn’t a big fan. Olimpico’s last few years in CMLL weren’t much to talk about. Due to injuries he wasn’t very good. However, in 2011, he really had a nice comeback. The Invasores added Volador Jr. to the group and it really helped the rest of that faction find their roles. Olimpico’s role as the third guy in a trio that features a great high-flyer in Volador Jr. and a hard-working Psicosis II seemed to light a bit of a fire in him. That trio of Invasores won the Mexican National Trios Championship from Rush, Angel de Oro & Diamante on September 20th. They became involved in a feud with Los Reyes Del Atlantida (Atlantis, Delta & Guerrero Maya Jr.) and eventually lost the trios titles to them on December 16th at the Sin Piedad show. His high-flying days are long over due to age and injury. He’s more of a power/submission wrestler these days. He’ll do a dive once in a while.
