CMLL GdR 10/27/07:
Felino/Leono/Stuka Jr. vs Satanico/Euforia/Nosferatu: Very short but at least longer than the highlights that aired of the first match the previous week. Stuka Jr. looked really good when paired with Euforia. Such a shame he will likely never get pushed to the next level by CMLL.:( Stuka’s diving frankensteiner off the second rope to the floor was awesome. Third fall could have been a lot better but that’s the smark in me that wants to see a great match. In reality I guess it worked perfect to put over the regular trio of Infernales being easily able to put away the tecnicos before they could manage a proper comeback.
Mistico vs El Averno: Horrible editing job. They aired way too much of the second fall and then joined the third fall in the middle of the same nearfalls we’ve seen these two do a million times already. The highlights in the opening segment ended up showing a lot of stuff that looked much cooler than what aired. It sucks b/c I was really looking forward to this but the 15 minute third fall ended up only being 5 minutes of stuff I could see coming a mile away. Of course Mistico wins with La Mistica. Hopefully their Arena Mexico match is much better. In fact I can assure you it will be. A lot of hype for nothing… at least for the TV audience…
Disapointing episode.
CMLL GdR 11/3/07:
Diana La Cazadora/Lady Apache/Marcela vs Hiroka/La Amapola/Princesa Sujei: This started off really good. I enjoyed all three exchanges between everyone and then right when things started to pick up… near tragedy occured. If you haven’t see it -> http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3evcq_la…-gone-bad_sport – thanks to cubsfan. So the tecnicas quickly wrapped up the first fall and then they spent a lot of time showing Apache get stretchered out and put into an ambulance. When we returned to the match the rudas were almost instantly DQ’ed for excessive violence. I guess there was no choice if Apache was figured into the ending of the match but if she wasn’t I wonder why they couldn’t have worked a ruda injury to make it into a tag for the final fall?
Blue Panther/Marco Corleone/Negro Casas vs Atlantis/Black Warrior/Olimpico: *yawn*
Absolute nothing episode.
CMLL FSE 11/4/07:
Fabian El Gitano/Leono/Tony Rivera vs Dr. X/Hooligan/Super Comando: Hey – a rare Hooligan sighting! And Dr. X sighting! And Super Comando sighting! WTF? Just for the freshness I probably would have enjoyed this but as it was this also turned into a fun match. The rudos were bumping nicely and all the tecnicos were hitting their stuff. Is Super Comando the answer to making Leono look good? Sure looked like it here. Third fall had some really nice dives including Rivera launching himself into the aisleway after an assisted somersault plancha, Super Comando with a plancha almost landing on a dead Hooligan and Fabian with a gigantic moonsault plancha to the pile of wrestlers. Leono pins Dr. X to win b/c life is unfair. Good stuff.
La Mascara/La Sombra/Volador Jr. vs Satanico/Euforia/Nosferatu: Whoa – another good match! I can’t even put into words how shocked I was to see two good matches on the same weekend of CMLL shows, let alone two good matches ON THE SAME SHOW! Any chance this could become a regular thing? I didn’t think so.:( Everyone looked good here aside from La Mascara who embarassed himself royally in the first fall. I guess he was supposed to do his ringpost plancha on Nosferatu who smartly realized there would be no room to catch and moved to the side a bit. La Mascara noticed at the last second and hit a clumsy plancha to the floor. So the guy wrestling on the team called “Los Reyes Del Aire” did a plancha to the floor worse than Ringo Mendoza was doing them in his 40th year of wrestling. And people wonder why Henrik and I hate La Mascara? He obviously has no heart for wrestling and was forced into where he is now. Back on track… for some reason they switched camera angles as Sombra was about to do something to Euforia but on the replays we saw him hit a cool roll-up. Second fall sees Quemonito use a plancha off the top rope and we get treated to an ultra-slow replay as Sombra and Euforia are probably tearing it up. THANKS! At least we get to see Sombra’s slingshot somersault frankensteiner and then his walk-the-ropes spot into a Misteriorana which is a thing of beauty. Rudos take the second fall. Tecnicos make the comeback and use triple running somersault planchas… well… not quite. Two of them did somersaults – guess which? The other did a pescado that would have Mocho Cota laughing at how weak it looked. Match goes on for a bit more which is surprising and both Euforia/Nosferatu end up outside on opposite sides for… you guessed it… DOUBLE MOONSAULT PLANCHA! Once again, no need to mention which two tecnicos did them. They still need to figure out a way to catch both dives properly in one camerashot without having to do a split-screen which is really annoying. La Mascara pins Satanico with a small package as Brazo De Oro laughs somewhere behind the scenes.
Very good show.
